Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-28-07  kingsindian2006: great tourney for this guy so far.. he doesnt play to draw and his games are interesting this tourney..
Aug-08-08  patzer2: Black forces the win of the exchange with
29...Ne2+, but White somehow has enough left to pull off a winning King-side attack.

Aug-08-08  patzer2: I have no doubt that when White played 29. Bb1!? he was preparing to deliberately sacrifice the exchange for attacking chances against Black's King position.

Because White's chances are so hard to calculate (Black actually appears to have a clear advantage after 30. Rxe2!? Rxd1 ), I'm putting 29. Bb1!? into my "true sacrifices" collection .

Aug-08-08  patzer2: Perhaps Black might have improved with winning chances after 41... Ra7!, when play could continue 42. Rg3 exf4 43. Bxf4 Qe7 44. Bh6 Rd4 45. Rg4 Qd6+ 46. Bf4 Qf8 47. Bh6 Qd8 48. Be3 Rxa2 49. Rg3 Ra7 50. Bxd4 Qxd4 51. Qg4 Qd8 52. Qf4 Qc7 53. Qxc7 Rxc7 to (-1.59 @ 17 depth per Fritz 8).
