fm avari viraf: I just can't believe, why White didn't play 11.Bb5+ & 12.Qxd4. Maybe, he must have touched the Queen first but that is a remote possibility.
Jun-21-09  Bob726: Nfd7 for black, he probably just missed that.
Mar-30-11  hedgeh0g: Yes, that's quite an easy move to miss. Good spot.

fm avari viraf: A couple of years ago, my reaction to Black's 10...Qxd4 was 11.Bb5+ but to-day, I spotted that 11...Nfd7 saves Her Majesty!

FSR: Nice trick! Poor White must have been mightily embarrassed.
Jan-03-12  King Death: <FSR> And White's move 9.a4 is called a "novelty" in the similar games feature. Something tells me it won't ever catch on though.

FSR: <King Death> Yes, as a novelty it ranks right up there with 3.Ke2 in Lindemann vs Echtermeyer, 1893.
Jan-03-12  King Death: <FSR> Here's another work of art in a different opening: N Tchinenoff vs R Maillard, 1925.

FSR: <King Death> Yes; note my comment to that game (the most recent one), cataloguing various extremely short games.
Mar-28-14  mmmjv: Why did White resign?

Fusilli: <mmmjv> Because everyone watching was thinking "Resign already!" and he could feel it. He blundered a piece, remember?
