In this game as in that one, 7...Qf6 would have held, unlike the immediately losing 7...dxe5.

White has a handful of 4th move choices after gambiting the e4-pawn. 4.Bxe7+? appears just three times in the database. If the bishop sacrifice was a sound move, such would be played more often: Opening Explorer
