fredthebear: White castles long and makes excellent use of his pawns to pry open the kingside. Black will have to give up his queen to prevent being mated.
Oct-19-19  Cheapo by the Dozen: A game in which the queens move a lot, and the players' names combine into that of one of the greatest tenors of all time.

And by the way, "Donna" is what the Italians call the queen.

La Donna E Mobile

Oct-19-19  Cheapo by the Dozen: Of course, this player is also fodder for a submission like "The Not-So-Great Caruso"
Oct-23-19  Cheapo by the Dozen: To be clear, La Donna E Mobile is perhaps the most famous aria in all of opera. The title phrase actually means "Woman is fickle" rather than "Woman physically moves around a lot", but so be it ...
Oct-23-19  goodevans: Brilliant pun and an entertaining game too. :)
Oct-23-19  areknames: Wonderful pun, thanks <Cheapo by the Dozen>!
Oct-23-19  faulty: Damn great pun. Respect, cheapo, full points.

Fusilli: <faulty: Damn great pun. Respect, cheapo, full points.> I second that, as both a chess enthusiast and opera fan!

Great pun, <cheapo>! And nice game.

Oct-23-19  Cheapo by the Dozen: Thanks for the kind words!!
Oct-23-19  bamaexpert: If my math is correct, Enrico Paoli was 93 when he played this game. It would have been neat if he had won.
Oct-23-19  Greek73: Nice pun! But Italians call the queen regina, precisely the translation from Queen
Oct-23-19  Atking: Black should have weakened the center before it become too strong by 12...dxe 13.fxe Be6 14.Nd5 BxN 15.QxB c6 as if 16.Qd7 Qxe5 17.Qxb7 Rb8

OhioChessFan: Nice pun, a little deep but still fun.
Oct-23-19  Count Wedgemore: <Greek73: Nice pun! But Italians call the queen regina, precisely the translation from Queen>

Wrong. 'Donna' is today the most commonly used term, although some still prefer 'Regina'. So <Cheapo> was spot on. Great pun.

Oct-24-19  Absentee: Good pun and very entertaining game.

Only one minor nitpick: the "e" in the phrase is accented, ie "È".
