Aug-12-04  InspiredByMorphy: Olaffson must have been scratching his head at the performance of Neumann. I wonder what kind of computer program his associates were using in 1993 that could play this well against such an opponent.
Aug-12-04  Dick Brain: 11. Nde2 certainly does look like a computerized move.
Aug-12-04  Knezh: CUriously enough, in the article the Grandmaster is said to have been Fridrik's namesake Helgi OLafsson

FSR: Stockfish 12, a much stronger engine than whatever "Von Neumann" was using, says that Black gets a huge, even winning position after 12...Qe5! 13.Qd4 Nc6! because of his bishop pair and/or lead in development, for example 14.Qxe5 Nxe5 15.fxg7 Bxg7 16.Nd6+ Ke7 17.O-O-O Ng4.
