Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-19-13  Abdel Irada: As Alexander Sinkievich would say, "Draw, my foot!"

(And this is why, to this day, sketches of Sinkievich's pedal extremity can be found in the files of the Mechanics' Institute Chess Club.)

May-16-15  ToTheDeath: Yes Black is winning here by pushing his pawns and advancing his king.

<wordfunph> posted this in Gufeld's profile:

from D. Bjelica's Grandmasters in Profile.. GM Eduard Gufeld told a story from one of the Soviet championships at which he and GM Lev Polugaevsky had played. Lev offered a draw and then immediately noticed that he was in a winning position. Gufeld also noticed and jokingly remarked to the grandmasters present: "Lev has offered me a draw and he is now trying to convince me not to accept it.">

Oct-19-16  zydeco: The winning idea is 56.Rh8 Be4! Then white has to get the rook back to the first rank as fast as possible: e.g. 57.Rxh5 but that gives black an opportunity to advance the king and the f-pawn, 57....Ke5 58.Rh1 f4. There's still a long way to go, but black should win.
