Dec-16-05  Antipholous: MWA HA HA!!! I'm the first one to Kibitz. Oh yea!
Dec-16-05  strifeknot: But who will be the first to say anything?
Dec-16-05  Antipholous: I always saw this opening as foolhardy when I first began, sacrificing 3 pawns for 2 seemed like too much. However, white's center control is frickin' amazing. I guess this game proves what the opening is theoretically suppossed to do...or whoever you spell that.
Dec-17-05  Holden: I used to play the Danish as white. The move I always hated to see was 5...Qe7.

Black's queenside never even got started!

tpstar: <Holden> That is the Chigorin Defense which is very effective in blunting White's initiative, combined with 6 ... c6 preventing enemy pieces from reaching d5 and b5.

Dec-17-05  Holden: <tpstar> Good learn its name, thanks. When I saw 5...Qe7, it was a clear signal that my opponent was not surprised by the Danish.

Thanks for the games. 6...c6 looks great against 6.Nc3. As white, I would play 6.Nd2, not wanting to block my dark square bishop. My opponent would then follow with Nf6 (usually) or sometimes Nc6.

Oct-19-09  WhiteRook48: Black never moved his c8-bishop or a8-rook. That's sad...
