   Aug-11-22 Kuzubov vs Kuybokarov, 2022

optimal play: 27...Rd8?? Instead 27...Ne4 is an even game. This was Kuybokarov's only loss in the Olympiad. Playing on board #2 he did pretty well (6/9)

optimal play: Not a great Olympiad for Anton Smirnov - ½ 0 1 ½ 0 0 - ½ ½ 0 (3/9) [+1/=4/-4] Board #1 is tough, but he should've done better.

optimal play: <MissScarlett: The computer thinks the position was roughly equal before <26.Nf5>, so I wonder what Smirnov had in mind after <26...gxf5 27. Rdg1 Ke8 28. Qg6+ Rf7>. Could he simply have missed <27...Ke8>?> I can't see what Anton had in mind. It looks ...

   Jul-31-22 A Smirnov vs I Msellek, 2022

optimal play: 13.Nb1? Retreating the knight to e2 is better. 15.f4? 16.Nxe7+? 19.Nd2? After 32.Qf3 I assume Smirnov offered the draw, and against an opponent 200 points higher it's no surprise Msellek accepted, but if he had continued with 32...Qe5 he would have had the better game. ...
