   Dec-21-05 Queen's Pawn Game (with ...d6) (A41) (replies)

admeyer: <How is the opening 1.d4 d6 2.c4 e5?> I can tell you that most of my wins against 1.d4 involve this line. Beginners playing the white side often think that they will benefit from taking away black's right to castle with the following line: 3.dxe5 dxe5 Qxd8+ Kxd8. This gives ...

Dec-10-05 Queen's Gambit Declined, Albin Counter Gambit (D08) (replies)

admeyer: <Eric Schiller> I think you just came up with a revolutionary way to get your editing done. I am a professional desktop publisher/proofreader and I will take you up on your offer!

Nov-20-05 Kramnik vs Polgar, 1997 (replies)

admeyer: Despite being dominated by Kramnik, she was able to finally defeat Kasparov (last year?) and that is the greater accomplishment being that they will probably not get to play another meaningful OTB game again.

admeyer: <Mating Net> I will respond to this over the next few days.

Sep-07-05 Dutch, Staunton Gambit (A82) (replies)

admeyer: I did a web search for info on this opening because there are not a whole lot of games in databases and opening books tend to ignore it for the most part. I know it is not the greatest system for black, but it virtually is all you need to play against any of white's most mainline ...

   Aug-21-05 Scandinavian (B01) (replies)

admeyer: <SEMENELIN> you say white equalizes?! If that is what happens, then this is a great system for black. I personally don't think it is great, but it definitely is good. It is more than suitable for blitz games and 3...Qd6 is catching the eye of many worldclass players these ...

   Aug-21-05 Radjabov vs Z Basagic, 2004

admeyer: black should have never given up darksquared bishops and the initiative. White really exploited black's lag in development with this near-miniature masterpiece.

   Aug-21-05 F Petersen vs A Nielsen, 1960 (replies)

admeyer: white should have never allowed the exchange of darksquread bishops.

Aug-15-05 Radjabov vs Polgar, 2003 (replies)

admeyer: 18 Nxf4 & then 22 Nxg3 in a rapid game shows why this kid is the real deal. I think this around the same time that he beat Kasparov 1.5 to 0.5 in Linares. It was only towards the end of Kasparov's career that Judit finally got a win off of him.

   Aug-15-05 J Bellin vs Polgar, 1988 (replies)

admeyer: 12 ...Nc5! is nice. You got to hand it to Judit for saving the half point in this one. After white gained control of the c file, it looked terrible for black; however, she hung on and reduced to a pawn-down rook ending where she had the stronger king. This turns out to be an easy ...
