   Sep-29-23 F Mustafayev vs A Somalwar, 2016

ChessCoachClark: Now here's inspiration for the rest of us! A U12 young man played the process for the Bishop-Knight Mate. Excellence that kept going to the FM level today! That's the way to do it! Be well. Be safe.

   Feb-15-23 Stahlberg vs J Bolbochan, 1941 (replies)

ChessCoachClark: Calling 41. ... Nxe6 slightly better than 41. ... Bxe6 is too superficial. Stockfish 15 evaluates 41. ... Nxe6 as M9 (an improvement on the M10 from SF 11), but 41. ... Bxe6 is M4 at d51: 42. Qe5 Kh7 43. Rg7 Kh8 44. Ra7 Qf6 45. Qxf6#. Also, White had a Battering Ram ...

   Jan-09-23 Topalov vs S Nadir, 2016 (replies)

ChessCoachClark: In reality, the pun is off by quite a bit. Nadir actually means rare, precious and special. As with Polish, German, Spanish and other surnames that have been "disqualified" by Kibitzers, e.g., errors with "Euwe"-- putting a name exclusively in English can be faulty. Nadir is

   Dec-11-22 Nikos Reich vs B Lauer, 2002

ChessCoachClark: White waited to the end to make the sorriest blunder! 88. Nb3# should have been played, instead. There are several M3 lines as well, per Stockfish 15.

Sep-06-22 Kotronias vs J Bellon Lopez, 2009 (replies)

ChessCoachClark: An excerpt from this game was used in Puzzle #740 by GM John Nunn in 1001 Deadly Checkmates.

   Sep-06-22 I S Padurariu vs C Foisor, 2008

ChessCoachClark: An excerpt from this game was used in Puzzle #743 by GM John Nunn in 1001 Deadly Checkmates.

   Sep-06-22 S Mulligan vs D Foord, 2007

ChessCoachClark: An excerpt from this game was used in Puzzle #738 by GM John Nunn in 1001 Deadly Checkmates.

Sep-06-22 Sutovsky vs Smirin, 2002 (replies)

ChessCoachClark: An excerpt from this game was used in Puzzle #745 by GM John Nunn in 1001 Deadly Checkmates.

   Jul-25-22 E Matsuura vs V R Castro Carneiro, 2017 (replies)

ChessCoachClark: After 75. ... Qf4, the position is identical to Diagram #4 in Combinations the Heart of Chess, by Irving Chernev. That diagram is from the game Augustin vs. Bongrantz, which seems to be unavailable. This game is modern and easily analyzed in comparison with Chernev's ...

   Jun-07-22 Fischer vs J Warren, 1964 (replies)

ChessCoachClark: I found it interesting that Warren played against Fischer in another simul game, in a suburb of Chicago and also earned a draw then, as well. Once is luck, maybe. Twice ...
