pilot: Bd6 for me.
g/f/c/b pawn pushes seem premature.
Dancing the queen around isn't a bad idea either, but it's going to be a lot of queen moves. |

pilot: Has someone already analyzed this line further?
18.Qd2 Ng4 19.Bd4 Bf6
It seems to do a good job killing our kingside attack and the bishop theatens check. All I could see was: 20.Bxf6 Nxf6 and we lose our attacking bishop to black's bad bishop |

pilot: I want to support Sneaky on the Con's
Playing 11.Bh6 will force AN to lose Castle, but castling behind that pawn formation without a black bishop on g7 isn't very wise to begin with. Infact, there's merit in waiting for black to castle before playing Bh6. I'm not willing to lose both |

pilot: There are definately tricks for White (and Black) if the e pawn is taken. And it goes back to tpstar's observation about Moro not choosing the Open defense as opposed to the Closed defense. It seems more Moro's style to play the open lopez with guns blazing |

Jan-10-06 J Thompson vs Mackenzie, 1864
|
pilot: The King's Gambit is a very tricky opening and there are a few ways to get out of this without playing 6.Kd2 (which is definately a mistake as witnessed in this game). Aside from the Muzio gambit with 5.Bc4 allowing the knight to drop, a 'safer' option is playing 6.g3 followed by ... |
