vibes43: After flip-flopping between Q sac and 31. Nxf6 a dozen times, I thought this puzzle was appropriate for an election year.

vibes43: Good puzzle. I don't automatically look for a Q sac on monday because I don't look at that first in games either. I knew, though, that I had to keep white in check to the end and that was key.

vibes43: I considered 28.d6 for reasons discussed but didn't settle on it. No way did I see 33.Qc7 while ponderig move 28.

vibes43: A good puzzle for me. Due to a change in my work schedule, I don't often have opportunity to solve these early-week puzzles.

vibes43: <cu8sfan: Man, it took me forever to find the solution. I'm glad to say I finally did. As it's Monday I was looking for an instant kill, a one-mover. I finally realized that White has enough time to bring the rook to d4 and deliver mate.> ditto that for me.

vibes43: Good puzzle. Didn't get it but learned from it.

   Jan-02-08 Fischer vs L Barczay, 1967 (replies)

vibes43: Again it took me a while to settle on the solution after earlier discounting Ng5. This week I should be spending more time evaluating my first instinct. Good puzzle. <black knight c6: I wish there was a seperate forum for the puzzles.> We of lesser skills outnumber the elete. ...

   Jan-01-08 H Helms vs O Tenner, 1942 (replies)

vibes43: I initailly (and too quickly)considered 12.Nxd7+ losing for white. Took a while to reconsider. Finally got it. Good puzzle.

   Dec-25-07 Kasparov vs G Gonda, 1988 (replies)

vibes43: Not hard after you realize there is no Tuesday grade win otherwise. It took me a few minutes to come to that conclusion though. A good Tuesday puzzle.

Dec-24-07 Rubinstein vs NN, 1902 (replies)

vibes43: I never spotted 16 Qh6 which proves I am inexperienced. I did spot 16 Qxh7 within seconds but only because I am now conditioned to look for sacs in these puzzles. Something else was proved here though. Dzechiel's analysis postings are honest. I respect that and always enjoy ...
