   Nov-17-10 C Golmayo vs Loyd, 1867 (replies)
tsvanerp: Beautiful! But was this game really played OTB? Sam Loyd was a mathematician famous for his puzzles. This combination is so unusual, especially the Ra1+! pattern I have never seen before in any ordinary game. I am a bit doubting if this game wasn't composed for artistic reasons
   Sep-13-10 Larsen vs R Bogdanovic, 1960 (replies)
tsvanerp: <corbinamman> 51 ... e3, 52 a6? Be5+! Now if K takes B black promotes with check, but if 53 Kxe3 Bb8 54 Ke4, Ke7 55 Kd5, Ba7! 56 Kc6 Kxe6 57 Kb7 Kd7! 58 Kxa7 Kc7 59 Ka8 Kc8 60 a7 Kc7 stalemate! Hence white should capture on e3 directly and move the king to b7 without ...
Feb-25-10 Landa vs Nisipeanu, 2007 (replies)
tsvanerp: 61 c2-c4 mate in 27
Feb-18-10 Tal vs Aronin, 1962 (replies)
tsvanerp: you mean something like this? I rather sleep on a pillow
Aug-20-09 FIDE Jermuk Grand Prix (2009) (replies)
tsvanerp: Nice to see how leko's play has been developed. He can't hardly be called a drawing master anymore!
Aug-16-09 M Umansky vs The World, 2009 (replies)
tsvanerp: No post-mortem analysis with GM Umansky?I am curious to hear his thoughts about the game
Jul-29-09 Biel International Chess Festival (2009) (replies)
tsvanerp: 50 ... Kf5 or 50 ... Rd7 doesn't matter. Both are a theoretical draw. All 6-pieces endings have been calculated till mate or draw. You can put up the position on the Shredder website to see the perfect play lines. But draw is draw in ...
Apr-07-09 Capablanca vs A Ribera Arnal, 1935 (replies)
tsvanerp: Wow, Capablanca plaid the Kasparov attack of the Karpov variation of the CK well before these guys were born!
Feb-26-09 Topalov - Kamsky Candidates Final (2009) (replies)
tsvanerp: Now it is, Rybka lines changed to 25 ... Bc8 as best move for black
Feb-26-09 Dreev vs Shirov, 1996 (replies)
tsvanerp: <xeroxx> note that b4!! occurs twice in the game. I think , <outplayer> meant 13 b4!! and not 18 b4!! which is less spectacular.
