sfairat: Thanks, <OhioChessFan>. I think this was a fairly high level game and I'm proud my bishop sacrifice didn't turn out to be unsound. |

Jun-02-08 Tal vs Larsen, 1965
|
sfairat: Well, you two are rather predictable - looking at names instead of looking at the moves. Typical. |

Jun-02-08 Tal vs Koblents, 1952
|
sfairat: 42 Qb3-attacking the rook. A weak move, but Tal didn't have any good alternatives. |

May-29-08 Gelfand vs Karpov, 1994
|
sfairat: Why didn't White at any point play Rh3 threatening Rh8#? If nothing else, it would have tied down Black's queen to defending the blocking pawn on f6 for a while. |

May-28-08 Kasparov vs Topalov, 1999
|
sfairat: My analysis of the game...
1) It bugs me that 22. ...Nbxd5 instead of 22. ...Nfxd5. It's clear Black's king is in danger, why do you want to remove the defender while you have a completely useless knight on f6?

2) ... |

May-28-08 Janowski vs Schlechter, 1899

sfairat: Same here, xKinGKooLx. Took me an embarassingly long time - about 10 minutes to solve this one. |

May-27-08 Geller vs P Ostojic, 1969
|
sfairat: It took me about five minutes to work this out. Since that's probably the amount of time I would've spent analyzing it OTB I seriously doubt I'd miss it. Unless it's a 15 minute game...
The key, of course is removing the opponent's queen. And finding a way to do it was easy enough. |

May-25-08 X3D Fritz vs Kasparov, 2003

sfairat: I saw that 32. Rg7 was losing a mile away. I wish that made me better than Kaspy but it doesn't. |

May-19-08 Lagno vs N Malmdin, 2007
|
sfairat: I got this one easily. Thought there might be something better than winning a minor piece, but I guess not. Black immediately resigned anyway.
20. ...Bxe5 21. fxe5 Qxe5 22. Nc5 Qc7 with black a pawn ahead.
That blunder is not the reason black lost though. Black's huge strategical ... |
