   Jun-26-14 A Yam vs So, 2014

pawnstar3: Not this guy again

Jun-18-14 World Rapid Championship (2014) (replies)

pawnstar3: Carlsen is all around the best player in the world right now, much like Kasparov used to be. However, Carlsen has much better competiton now than Kasparov ever faced. MC is just extremely solid and rarely ever makes mistakes. His chess is very fundamentally sound which is why ...

Jun-17-14 Carlsen vs Movsesian, 2014 (replies)

pawnstar3: The comment above mine is one of the funniest things i've ever read on this site. I hope it was intentional

   Nov-19-13 Magnus Carlsen (replies)

pawnstar3: The problem with this match is that Anand is not challenging Carlsen in a way that someone like Nakamura would. The other problem is that carlsen is a pretty boring player. He's not a tactical, wild type of player. He's more Karpov than Kasparov. He's the best player in the world,

Mar-26-13 Svidler vs Grischuk, 2013 (replies)

pawnstar3: <Id go out on a limb and say this game is more interesting then all the rest of the games in this tournament combined.> I completely agree- I was following this game live and it was the only one in the tourney that I really was excited about. I'm sick of watching the top ...

Mar-13-13 World Championship Candidates (2013) (replies)

pawnstar3: Carlsen is of course the favorite, albeit a very slight favorite. Realistically almost any of these 8 players could win the event. I suspect tons of draws unfortunately but I'm sure there will be at least 4 or 5 really amazing decisive games to come from this event.

   Mar-07-13 Short vs M Bluvshtein, 2007 (replies)

pawnstar3: Surprised this game doesn't receive more attention. One of the better games to have been played over the last decade IMO.

   Mar-07-13 Kamsky vs A Stefanova, 2013

pawnstar3: stefanova should've traded her rook for the bishop and knight and would've been fine

   Feb-18-08 Caruana vs Motylev, 2008

pawnstar3: looks like caruana isn't quite ready to join the big leagues yet- motylev simply outplays him here

   Nov-22-07 Shabalov vs Smirin, 2005

pawnstar3: im not sure the exact analysis, but i remember reading somewhere that shabalov had the clear edge here and should've won- it would've been smirin's second loss of the tournament- even though it was a draw, it was a very exciting game- it goes to show you that draws can be exciting
