Aug-07-12 The World vs V Akobian, 2012
|
pawn2king4: I'm a Caro player and am torn between 3. e5 and 3. Nc3. I play the latter when I am on the White side, and I don't mind the former when I'm playing the Black side. As this is correspondence chess, I will go with 3. e5. |

pawn2king4: <keypusher>
That is a good point about that line of the Caro-Kann. I played that version for a while in tournament games with some success, although I had to be on my toes more often than not to be comfortable with it. |

Oct-04-06 Kramnik - Topalov World Championship Match (2006)
|
pawn2king4: I think Danailov's actions are bull. There is likely to be a high correlation because the players at the super-GM level play very good moves most of the time. Now, if my games matched a Fritz analysis, I should definitely be suspect of cheating! |

Jan-09-06 D Valerga vs C Lujan, 2004
|
pawn2king4: Many of you have posted some good advice regarding the opening. Tactics do seem to trump openings in class C and D chess. I beat a player 300 points above me with tactics in the Smith-Morra Gambit. One bad move on his part, and blammo! |

pawn2king4: I played in the tournament, and I was certainly hoping for a bigger turnout. Regardless, it was a great time, more an event than simply a tournament. I still feel optimistic, in spite of being saddened by HB's closure. |
