macphearsome: <NewLine> Didn't see that possibility. Good point!

macphearsome: I did not want to add wood to a growing flamewar (on the front page puzzle), but I just wanted to comment on an exchange that you made with some Joker fellow. How ludicrous that he would even waste your time with such ill courtesy. As somebody who only occasionally plays chess,

   Sep-27-10 E Freeborough vs J R Clark, 1878 (replies)

macphearsome: not bad for 1800!

   Sep-22-10 Eliskases vs B Wexler, 1960 (replies)

macphearsome: I looked at the position and decided that I would prefer a simpler endgame as black. Like most people here, I didn't analyze the position but saw that black had very strong pawns, while white was about to lose the pawn on g6 and then slowly the game.

   Sep-18-10 B Larsen vs J Rosito, 2002 (replies)

macphearsome: Awww, I definitely thought this one was a spoiler. I guess that makes it a double-spoiler or something. Anyways, I played Bd4

   Sep-15-10 B Larsen vs F Kuijpers, 1967 (replies)

macphearsome: correction to my last post - Qh5 is not check. But, the spare pawn feels almost as good :)

   Sep-13-10 B Larsen vs R Bogdanovic, 1960 (replies)

macphearsome: I saw the obvious Bxc5 but honestly I had to take a closer look at the next few moves to understand black's counter-play. OTB I would have sacrificed the bishop, but I think I might have missed Kxe4. (Or AJ's Kf3!)

   Sep-13-10 S Petersen vs B Larsen, 1956 (replies)

macphearsome: I really like the tactical shots by the rook, especially (and obviously) 25...Rxg3+ While 26.hxg3 leads directly to mate as played, 26.fxg3 is only slightly better, for example 26.fxg3 Nf3+ 27.Kf2 Nxd4 28.exd5 Nxc2 and black is up a pawn and has 3 minor pieces for a rook,

   Sep-12-10 B Larsen vs B Djurasevic, 1955 (replies)

macphearsome: My only comfort with this puzzle is that dzechiel also thought it was very difficult.

   Aug-24-10 V Lepikhin vs Alekseev, 1959 (replies)

macphearsome: Oh, bad habits. Just before I looked at the game, I double-checked to make sure it was a tuesday puzzle, because it seemed <too easy> Always be on your guard for traps! Especially when you think you are the one setting the trap...
