dragon40: I actually agree with <acirce> here, He is an incredible talent, but let him lose one game and everyone is on the "hes not that good, or he's a flash in the pan bandwagon".If you look at the best GM's, there has always been 1 player that they just cannot seem to do well ...

dragon40: <Hesam7> I play the Grunfeld as Black and since I am a d4 player, I also face it quite a bit. I prefer the exchange variation most of all, just because I think it gives White better chances... I think there is still a huge amount of play left in the Russian System, mainly ...

Jun-27-06 Kramnik - Topalov World Championship Match (2006) (replies)

dragon40: I have not commented on my thoughts on the match for a few reasons...but I feel like sharing now. Most people oin this site know how I do not care fro KRamnik at all, period! BUT, the fact is, he has had SO much time to study Topalov and prepare, since he has not played..who knows ...

dragon40: <Mulholland> I agree, and I found the comment egotistical and arrogant, but as you say, you need that type of confidence, or attitude to win! I think hes games do display more confidence and he is definitely sure of himself right now. In the worst case scenario, he gets blown

dragon40: <themadhair> I agree, and when you research, I think you will find the variation is not so bad for Black! the little analysis on it, plus the opportunity for originality makes it appealing to me...a nice departure from my standard Caro Kann!

   Jan-22-06 Mikhail Botvinnik (replies)

dragon40: Well, regardles of the "Facts" or mios-truths opr whatever is going on, I admoire Botcinnik;s play and games. He was ahead of his time and worked hard on and off the cherssboard. His work regimen was well documented and his competitive instinct and winning spirit are also very ...

dragon40: As I have said before, this is a rich and diverse site and we ALL have the right to criticise or praise who we want to based on our opinions! That is wahy this is kibitzing and not a sole based on fact site! I dislike Kramnik as much as most people that love chess do, but I ...

Jul-17-05 Bacrot vs Kramnik, 2005 (replies)

dragon40: Great Game!! I am glad that this tournament was a pretty successful one as far as the fighting Chess that MOST of the players went for. Lot of good hard fought games, whether they be win, lose or draw. The result was great as well...Bacrot deserved this Win and he earned it by ...

dragon40: <azaris: A glance at his opponent's rating should cool down the enthusiasm a bit.> TRue BUT how many of Tal;s opponents in that Zurich tournament and others were far below his level but he was hailed as Magnus is now? I think it is great that people have a chess figure they ...
