   Jan-06-09 Plaskett vs J Emms, 1986 (replies)

bakuazer: took me at least 3 minutes, though most of it I spent on trying to remember what day of week is to guess the difficulty level. It is a somewhat unsual mate though.

Sep-25-08 Karpov vs Topalov, 1994 (replies)

bakuazer: <whitehat1963:I'm probably not the first to make this comment, but isn't it an interesting coincidence that both Kasparov and Karpov have games against Topalov that are considered their "immortal" games?> It is incredible that even though I have known this game and Kasparov's

bakuazer: <Well, after the rules were introduced we've seen tens of GMs losing those "clearly drawn" positions ;). Theoretical draws are often just that - theoretical.> I am not talking about "theoretical draws", but about positions in which a 1700 player can hold easily. Some ...

   Jun-27-08 J Pelaez vs A de Dovitiis, 1993 (replies)

   Jun-25-08 Euwe vs G Thomas, 1946 (replies)

bakuazer: easy but nice puzzle

   Jun-23-08 Keres vs R G Wade, 1954 (replies)

bakuazer: <jovack: this would have been a monday puzzle even a few moves before this point> yes, but the problem is you wouldn't know if castling is legal or not. and that is an important move. nice monday puzzle.
