   Feb-26-21 Levon Aronian (replies)

amateur05: For the sake of being objective I must add that Aronian has initiated charity events to help the poor and no one can diminish his achievements in the Armenian Olympics team.

Jan-25-21 Tata Steel Masters (2021) (replies)

amateur05: <Wannabe> Thanks, i'll try that option on my pc as it doesn't come up on my mobile.

   Oct-27-20 Naiditsch vs Kramnik, 2009

amateur05: Attacking Petroff. Very rare to see.

May-18-20 Svidler vs Carlsen, 2020 (replies)

amateur05: It wasn't easy to see white's decisive combination that began with 46 Rb8+. Hence the "'natural" move 45...Bxb4. It was still playable after 45...Rc7.

   Mar-31-20 Arianne Caoili (replies)

amateur05: Condolences to Arianne's family and friends. Very sad and untimely death.

Mar-20-20 Grischuk vs Wang Hao, 2020 (replies)

amateur05: Begins as a Petrov but then transforms into French exchange after 5. d3 Nf6 6. d4 d5. Grischuk played well and had a big advantage until he got into time trouble. He probably missed 34. ... Ne4+! which took the pressure off the isolani on d5.

   Jan-19-20 A R Saleh Salem vs Carlsen, 2019

amateur05: White is winning a piece after 22. Qf2

Jan-19-20 Tata Steel Masters (2020) (replies)

amateur05: The moment Firouzdja smashed his water bottle after losing a recent blitz game to Carlsen is quite revealing. I haven't seen such thirst in other young players and that is unlikely to fizzle out. Of course he needs to improve his game with the black pieces.

   Oct-11-19 V Gashimov vs Korchnoi, 2008 (replies)

amateur05: Impressive game!

   Jul-23-19 A Lesiege vs S Conquest, 2000 (replies)

amateur05: <ThornPawnFan> I missed that line. Yes, at the end of it the f pawn is unstoppable.
