   Aug-02-17 Alekhine vs S Lugowski, 1931

Wulebgr: The checkmate sequence is in Tal and Khenkin, Tal's Winning Chess combinations (1979)

   Jul-21-17 M Matlakov vs P Ponkratov, 2017

Wulebgr: What a game! The game leads the article on the European Individual Championship in Informant 132.

   May-07-17 Blackburne vs Harmonist, 1889

Wulebgr: Game 2 in The Agile London System

Apr-07-17 Bogoljubov vs Alekhine, 1922 (replies)

Wulebgr: Thanks, perfidious. I'll look for that.

   Mar-02-17 Krasenkow vs J L Hammer, 2016 (replies)

Wulebgr: Hammer's video on chess.com presents the theme of this game as the power of the bishop pair. But it has so much more: pawn sacrifices, temporary exchange sacrifices, and an instructive rook ending that finishes much like a Lucena. Instructive game that merits hours of study.

   Feb-22-17 V Belov vs A Pugachov, 2004

Wulebgr: Black's position already seems extremely unpleasant after 11.Bh6.

   Feb-20-17 H Hecht vs Forintos, 1974 (replies)

Wulebgr: After 20.Re3, I cannot see a way for Black to defend. Black's pieces must defend weak pawns and lack mobility. White is prepared to create a battery on the c-file, d-file, or shift the rook to g3 for action against the king.

   Feb-10-17 Karjakin vs F Bindrich, 2007

Wulebgr: With a different move order through the first five, I and my opponent played this game moves 6-11 tonight. I played Karjakin's move 12, but my opponent went for 12...Nc2+. My game lasted seventeen moves and was a victory for White.

   Jan-24-17 Blatny vs O Sutter, 1991 (replies)

Wulebgr: One doesn't expect to see such a quick knockout with the London System.

   Jan-24-17 James Maki (replies)

Wulebgr: Maki coaches the top players in my city.
