WhiteSox: I can hear them bragging... 'That was OLD STYLE, man!' 'I can't believe he was stupid enough to put his hard -earned money in a bank.' 'You're a RING-TAIL ROUNDER Mike.' 'You're King Kong...'

   Feb-27-06 Gulko vs I Gurevich, 1991 (replies)

WhiteSox: Btw, for the newbie, if 20 Rxd5? Qa1+! 21 Rd1 Rb1!! would have been crisp.

   Feb-27-06 Kamsky vs I Gurevich, 1991

WhiteSox: Kamsky decisively whips in the revenge game. Rustam questions why Gata wasn't given the Samford fellowship.

   Feb-27-06 I Gurevich vs Benjamin, 1992 (replies)

WhiteSox: OK, I just checked this with Skij. 20...Nxb2? 21 Ng5! f6. Here I was only looking at 22 ef, when 22...Rxf6 defends, but missed that 22 ed! now wins a piece.

   Feb-27-06 Benjamin vs I Gurevich, 1991

WhiteSox: 31..e5!! 32 Nxe5 Nh5; 32 Bxe5 Re6!

   Feb-27-06 Kudrin vs I Gurevich, 1990

WhiteSox: That knight was clearly Black's best piece, actually his only piece, which is why 18 Rxc6!! should be played without thinking. But Black still looks lost on move 23 if 23 f4! and then trying to resac a rook for the knight.

   Feb-27-06 Kamsky vs I Gurevich, 1991 (replies)

WhiteSox: Certainly no need for Rustam to choke Patrick Wolff here! This is pretty much a clean sweep by Ilya. Actually, why is there a body of Sicilian theory (mostly referring to the previous game with Benjamin) that only seems to have been discovered by Ilya Gurevich? I ...

   Feb-27-06 I Gurevich vs A Rodriguez Vila, 1991

WhiteSox: 33 Rd6! Qc7 34 Rxc6! I suppose this has already been pointed out somewhere.

   Feb-27-06 I Gurevich vs Smirin, 1990

WhiteSox: 22? 22 Rxa7 ; 22 Re1.

Feb-27-06 R Disconzi da Silva vs Mecking, 1995

WhiteSox: OK. 30 Nxd5 Rd7 31 Nf6+ Bxf6 32 Bxf6 ( .) But 30...Rc1! ( .) is OK for Black.
