Apr-04-14 Karpov - Fischer World Championship Match (1975) (replies)

Flyboy216: <<AylerKupp> True, but the Elo P(Win) is based on a large number of games, so that's what a long match approximates; it is not the probability of winning a single game.> Elo difference indeed predicts the win probability of a single game, based on a large number of ...

   Dec-27-13 Viswanathan Anand (replies)

Flyboy216: This is of course possible, Rolfo. I just mean that in Indian English vernacular, "till" typically does not mean "until", but "as long as." Quite confusing sometimes.

Nov-27-13 Anand - Carlsen World Championship Match (2013) (replies)

Flyboy216: <I'm not sure where the knight odds comes from in that thread> On the last page they try giving Shredder knight odds, and Houdini wins with the mentioned 67%.

May-20-10 Anand - Topalov World Championship Match (2010) (replies)

Flyboy216: <Kazzak>: It is quite possible that I still do not understand the situation correctly. As I doubt I have much to add to this debate anyway, I gleefully withdraw my objection :)

Flyboy216: <Knight13> I'm not claiming that I or others are more intelligent, or have more authority. As I pointed out, you sound plenty intelligent yourself. I was only posting in the hopes of clearing up potential confusion. I may be wrong, or my posts may be useless to you, and ...

Oct-15-08 Anand - Kramnik World Championship Match (2008) (replies)

Flyboy216: If I have to choose between remotely clever Kramnik toilet puns (I kinda liked "leako"), or mean-spirited, long-winded, double-spaced killjoy rants, please give me the former!

   Nov-06-07 Teimour Radjabov (replies)

Flyboy216: <ahmadov>: You can win a game, you can win a tournament, but you cannot win a person. Well, maybe if a person was the prize for the game... but that would be strange!

   Oct-18-07 Hikaru Nakamura (replies)

Flyboy216: <Karpova>: Perpahs, but the comment is still true, regardless of people breaking the record later.

Sep-29-07 World Championship Tournament (2007) (replies)

Flyboy216: <acirce: But achieving i wins would have been a complex task.> ;-) Of course, even achieving e wins is a complex task.

   May-27-07 The Turk (Automaton) (replies)

Flyboy216: Fantastic! That's what I imagined I'd hear, and I have some thoughts to add as well. Unfortunately I'm short on time right now (and is this really the best forum for such a discussion?). I'll try to add thoughts in the near future.
