   Aug-17-05 E Marchand vs Fischer, 1956 (replies)
Eric6312: After 56. Qxg3+ why can't black take the queen?
Aug-15-05 Lasker vs Nimzowitsch, 1914 (replies)
Eric6312: <> Keres and Kotov's book "The Art of the Middlegame" has the game going two moves further: 41...Bxe5 42. Qe8+ and then they agreed to a draw as after 42. .Kc7 43. Qxe5+, Black must accept the perpetual check.
   Aug-04-05 Nimzo-Indian, Three Knights (E21) (replies)
Eric6312: What's Blacks best reply? 3...d5 into the Ragozin or 3...b6 into the QI are two options that come to mind.
Jul-29-05 Ruy Lopez, Berlin Defense (C65) (replies)
Eric6312: Yes Holden! I think 7. Re1 is the key I missed. Thanks!
   Jul-29-05 J Nikolac vs Timman, 1979 (replies)
Eric6312: I think the king now gets to use the c4 square to slide in there and eat up all the pawns.
   Jul-28-05 J Brink vs J R Markus, 1987 (replies)
Eric6312: "Brink of Disaster" ! they didn't have to dig deep for that one.
   Jul-27-05 Queen's Indian (E12) (replies)
Eric6312: I heard that many Black players play 1...Nf6 and 2...e6 hoping for the Nimzo, but when they don't get the chance with 3. Nf3 they play 3...d5, prefering this line of the QGD to the Queen's Indian. Is that true? What do people think is better for black?
   Jul-23-05 B Wexler vs Bronstein, 1960 (replies)
Eric6312: In Amatzia Avni's book "Chess Psychology" he says that the Soviet ambassador to Argentina was watching the game and that Bronstein had told the ambassador beforehand that he would sacrafice his queen in his honor. Almost like Babe Ruth calling his shots!
   Jul-22-05 Taimanov vs L Abramov, 1950
Eric6312: It's all about e4!
Jul-20-05 Tarrasch vs Alekhine, 1925 (replies)
Eric6312: in Max Euwe's book "The Middlegame" the author states that Alekhine said that 11...Qd8 was the best move of the whole game.
