May-17-12 Anand vs Gelfand, 2012 (replies)

Doctor Who: Question: I always thought that in openings like this, it would make sense for White to recapture Bxd5 with 17.Qxd5, to keep that d-pawn of Black's fully backward. But in GM games when I see this opening that never happens. What's wrong with my reasoning?

Doctor Who: <This endgame is definitely not dry and boring.> I really want to believe that, but I just don't see it yet. Can somebody show me a variation where one side gets into even a little bit of trouble?

Doctor Who: Excellent post-game interview at the live video site taking place right now.

Aug-09-11 Kasparov vs Karpov, 1991 (replies)

Doctor Who: 18.Kd2! in crafty's line seems a bit audacious but I'll buy that White is winning there.

Doctor Who: I prefer the photo of Magnus wearing boxing gloves.

Nov-10-09 Gelfand vs Kramnik, 2009 (replies)

Doctor Who: My chess computer is screaming for Qh5 as well. I don't understand, is it just to threaten c5?

   Oct-02-09 Topalov vs Y Wang, 2009 (replies)

Doctor Who: Nakamura could beat Rybka from this position ;-)

Oct-02-09 Carlsen vs Radjabov, 2009 (replies)

Doctor Who: Did anybody follow that "zugzwang" fantasy variation that Natalia posted? Here's my attempt to make a FEN [DIAGRAM] Try to suggest a move for Black that doesn't lose outright ... it's not easy!

Oct-01-09 Jakovenko vs Carlsen, 2009 (replies)

Doctor Who: Thanks <CG> thanks <Natalia> but also thanks to all you good people like <achieve> <twinlark> <Open Defense> <marcwordsmith> <Pulsar> and others, who helped carry the commentary during the absence of our lovely hostess! And thanks to ...
