then i realized that if 40. Ne7+, then Rxe7, 41. Qxe7? Qf2+!! and 42. ...Qxh2++!
so now if we remove the defender...the rook. With 40. Qxe3+ now we can fork the black's queen and secure the exchange without queen mate threats. |

| BiteByBits: i saw Rxa3 after realizing that the Ra1 was the key in defending Qf1! if white plays Qe1+ (then white play Qf1) so now we have to distract away the defender somehow and look! after bxa3 we have Qxa1 (one of the keys to this puzzle). |
