Solomon Moiseevich Slonim. Champion of the Moscow City Council of Trade Unions of 1929 (overtook and beat N. N. Ryumin in a personal game). Made the semifinal of the 7th USSR Championship (1931). Played in the Moscow championships 1922/23 (6 of 10, 3-5 places), 1924 (11 of 16, 4 place), 1926 (11.5 of 17, + 10-4 = 3, 3-4 places), 1927 ( 7.5 from 15, 10th place), 1928 (7 of 17, + 4-7 = 6, 11-12 places), 1929 (7.5 of 14, + 7-6 = 1, 5 place), 1930 ( 9 of 17, 10th place), 1931 (6 of 12, 5-9 places), 1936 (8 of 17, + 6-7 = 4, 10-11 places), 1938 (6 of 17, + 4-9 = 4, place 14). In the match Moscow-Leningrad in 1926 he won both games vs. I. P. Golubev on the 8th board . In the correspondence tournament of masters and I category (1935 - 1936) he tied in 5-6 places with K. A. Vygodchikov.
