Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-10-12  thomastonk: In occasion of his 130th birthday, I have collected some facts about him.

G.W.J. Zittersteyn was a strong player from the Dutch chess club Discendo Discimus (D.D.), The Hague. He run a chess column in "Het Vaderland" from 1920 until 1932. In 1938 he became chairman of the Dutch chess federation K.N.S.B. This picture http://www.pic-upload.de/view-17258... has been published at this occasion. He held this position until 1948, with a break during 1943-45, when Euwe was chair of the "Neschabo". When he died on April 13th, 1956 he was honourary chairman of D.D. and member of the Order of Orange-Nassau.

Several of his games survived, e.g. those from group B of the Dutch championship 1921. Also a draw with RĂ©ti from a simultaneous exhibition in 1919 is available.

Happy birthday, Mr Zittersteyn!
