technical draw: Never heard of him until today. It's strange because he's a pretty strong GM.

Nov-27-14  cro777: GM Pavel Maletin is Russian Rapid Champion.

The Russian Rapid Chess Championship took place on 19-20 May, 2014 in Saint Petersburg. Maletin was the winner in the Men’s Section with 6.5/9 points.

Maletin's analyses (in Russian on ruchess.ru) of the games of the World Championship Match in Sochi are among the best. The depth of his analysis of the endgame in the seventh game of the match is fascinating (Peter Svidler: "Trust me - you don't want to miss it!")
