Arne Vinje Gulbrandsen (Arne Vinje since 1986) was awarded the IM title in 1981. He was Norwegian champion in 1965 and 1968, and played on Norway olympiad team in 1962, 1964, 1970 and 1982. In the 1990-ies he resumed his interest for correspondence chess (he was a shared Nordic Champion in 1963) and became the 51st ICCF European Champion in 1998 ( In 2001 he achieved the CC GM title; he then also qualified for the WC final, but did not participate.
