Nov-26-21  Member: Gledis Kapidani Shkodra chess master former player for Schalke 04 was Albanian national champion 2021. A tactical genius with huge chess knowegle and virtuozity he is considered by Magnus Carlsen as "a god of defense". He also won New York city international open tournament 2021 and has victories over many many Grand Masters including GM Weasly So ; GM Judit Polgar and the world champion GM Magnus Carlsen. Gledis is the only chess player in Albanian chess history to become a candidate for the penultimate stage of world championship cycle. Gledis Kapidani is the best player in Albania according to ECU and Play Magnus team group.He became number one in Albania ( an achievment only held by Ylvi Pustina) and is Albanias most praised player by IM's and GM's.In summer 2021 he become an unexpected underdog who beated GM's in row to be a professional chess player(the second in Albanian chess history after IM Altin Cela).Gledis played at Play Magnus , beating Magnus age 29 while Magnus Carlsen was in a 125 match undefeted streak.He is an avid Magnus Carlsen fan and got the chance to play Magnus and be Magnus student; The world champion Magnus Carlsen is very impresed by him and called him a super strong player. ------
