May-21-21  SkySports: He got his last GM norm at the Chartres tournament ( and he's now the youngest French GM of all times.

cro777: Marc Andria Maurizzi was born on 16 May 2007 in Bastia on Corsica (France). He started tournament chess at an early age and in 2017 and 2019 he won the European Youth Championships U10 and U12. When he was 12 years and 2 months old, he became an International Master.

In the last round of the 2nd Chartres GM 2021 tournament (in Chartres, France) Maurizzi met Kamran Shirazi with the black pieces:

Maurizzi accepted a quick draw (in 10 moves) which was enough for his third GM norm (6.5/9).

The idea of this Grandmaster tournament was to give members of the chess club Chartres a chance to get practice after the long break caused by the pandemic.
