Graham picked up his second norm the following year, followed by his third and final norm on his 53rd birthday.

Jun-07-14  sqmorr: In Jan 2013 FIDE approved my IM title "conditional on rating" (see so I now "just" have to cross the 2400 barrier to get to this next level.
Jun-07-14  Sally Simpson: Hi Sqmorr,

The good news is that if you got your IM title a few years back I would have got your games to analyse in 'Rampant Chess'.

I had a quick peek at your DB. I see like me all the golden oldies from the late 70's, early 80's are missing.

I recall a game of yours v Norris about 1978/79. He showed it to us at the Club and me and Johnny Marr spent the whole night looking at it.

Also recall the looks of horror you use to give some of my moves when we were team mates.

Remember this?

G.Chandler - Dr.Ratcliffe, Edinburgh League 1983.

I castled allowing Bd4. Yes it was a blunder. I had to sac a piece and then my Queen to win.

Think I'll submit this for my bit (no one else will want it.) It's quite amusing.

Good luck in getting the title, I'm sure it will happen and regards to L.

Richard Taylor: It's hard to get to over 2400 Elo or FIDE. But an achievement to get an IM. In NZ recently, in the Asian Seniors, (I had to pull out as did some others due to the infamous illness), but a lot of older players (I was in the over 65s) got either IM norms or FM I think. One I noticed was "provisional". On fellow I think got his IM and a GM Norm. He was from the Phillipines. Efren Bagamasad is his name
