Congrats to IM Tiberiu-Marian Georgescu (2475) for upsetting 6th seed GM Abhijeet Gupta in R3 of the Iasi Open. In R4, he'll face 5th seed GM Mykhaylo Oleksiyenko (2629).

Penguincw: Anyway, he would draw that game, and the 2 after that, but would lose a game, then win a game, and draw his last game to finish with 6/9 (+4,-1,=4) and 14th place (the highest out of all non-GMs). He also gained 13.3 rating points (now up to 2488.3), but he only had a TPR of 2545, so no GM norm here.

Jul-24-16  Eastfrisian: He is a GM since 2015
