fredthebear: If 13...dxNe5, then 14.dxe5 threatens the Black Bf6 and the diagonal check-and-royal fork 15.Bd5+. So, it's best not to take the Ne5.

If 14...hxNg6, then 15.RxQe6. So, it's best not to take the Ng6. The intermezzo sacrificial check 14...QxRe1+ 15.QxQe1 hxNg6 is also better for White.

If 17...BxNe6 18.BxBe6 RxBe6 19.Qg4+ Qg6 20.QxRe6+ leaves White up the exchange.

Thus, White gets excellent mileage from her king's knight!
