Mar-14-19  andrewjsacks: Always like a good literary allusion. Pun well done.

An Englishman: Good Evening: Good pun indeed, esp. as the Knight played such a critical role in the win.
Mar-14-19  ajile: 9..a5 seems to take the sting out of White's try to play for c5 opening up play on the q-side.

Troller: Thank you, this was my first pun submission. Of course the original Sir Gawain was fighting against the Green Knight rather than employing him for his own cause as in the above game :)
Mar-14-19  Count Wedgemore: I agree with the praise you've received, <Troller>. This is a high-quality pun.
Mar-14-19  Cheapo by the Dozen: The first version of the story that I read, in Bullfinch's Mythology, is halfway between Chaucher's Sir Gawain & the Green Knight and his Wife of Bath's Tale. At least, that's how I remember it.

So -- did a married woman ever play a good game in a tournament in Bath? :)

piltdown man: Yes, a great pun.

Breunor: Game starts going against white with 31 Ng3. The obvious looking Bxa5 maintains the advantage, Stockfish has it at about .75. After Ng3 black is a wee bit better at -.13.

scormus: <Breunor> yes, like in a football match. A goal chance is missed and the momentum swings.

<Toller> super pun, one of the best!

I was wondering. Sometimes people fall prey to "fancy play" syndrome.

Mar-14-19  Cibator: I'd have expected <Breunor> to be in first with a pun of this kind! (Perhaps he has already, for other games.)
