The decisive mistake was trying to hold onto the extra piece with 29...Ra7? and allowing 30. Rc1! +- (+1.54 @ 33 ply, Stockfish 8).

Instead, 29...Rxd6 30. Bxa4 Rd4 31. Bb5 Bb7 = to ⩲ ((+0.26 @ 33 ply, Stockfish 8) gives Black drawing chances.
