Sally Simpson: 'The Sodium Attack' due to Na3 being the chemical element for Sodium.

The Sodium Knight played it's part well in this game featuring in the game winning mating net.

However the result could have been different if Grover had played the move 22...Ng6 here...

...with an exchange winning Knight Fork on e5 if White plays 23.Kxf3.

  fredthebear: Nice post, <Sally Simpson>!

This salty opening looks related to the Reti Gambit, don't you think?

FTB likes the simple 21...NxRd7 winning the exchange and alleviating the two hogs on the 7th. In Black's defense, it's mighty hard to pass up a capture w/check, removing the fianchettoed bishop.

Ironic to see White's Sodium knight end up on the sweet f6 square (Fluorine has the atomic number 9; let's compound the matter into Cryolite (Na3AlF6)), while the Black knight is off yonder on the a-file!

avtaplanit: IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE ADD THE TYPE OF GAME TO YOUR SEARCH CRITERIA. e.g.
'normal' or'rapid'

It is quite frustrating to try to guess moves made in a rapid game and often get it wrong because the player made a bad move.
