  Chessical: Sherrard and Shoosmith had a sensational termination. Shoosmith played a Sicilian defence, and the game went on somewhat original lines. Sherrard, who is one of the most enterprising of players, brought both his bishops forward with a flourish on the king's side and then played the very showy moves, 24 and 25. Black, being badly pressed for time, took the knight, overlooking the queen sacrifice, which finished the game prettily. Had he allowed matters to stand as they were and moved, say, his queen's rook, he might have survived."
