perfidious: Not every day one comes across a game in which one side has three knights for very long.

Pity White went in for seppuku and did not allow his opponent to demonstrate the splendid 13.Qxh4 Rd3+ 14.Kc2 Nxb4+ and mate next move in a far from common pattern.

<Eggman>, excellent point.

Jul-21-23  generror: If anyone needs any proof that Lasker is one of the greatest ever, the Lasker trap should be enough. How anyone can find <7...fxg1=N+!!> without the help of an engine is completely beyond me.

And in his first game with White against the Albin, Lasker vs Albin, 1893, he also immediately played the one move that in my opinion completely pulls the teeth of the Albin Countergambit, <5.a3>. I had to spend quite a while with an engine until I finally found that one.

Jul-21-23  generror: He also tried this trap in the earlier Blumenfeld / Boyarkow / Falk vs Lasker, 1899, but unfortunately those guys didn't fall for it. And as I don't think Lasker is someone who'd publish this secret weapon, thanks to George Thompson that he fell for it :)
