Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-03-17  optimal play: 53...Rc1?? throws away the win.

Geus needed to play 53...Kh8 immediately to prevent either of the pawns Queening and also avoid 54.Nh5+!

61...Bxg6!? invites stalemate with 62.Kxg6 but interestingly, Hamilton rejects that with 62.Kf6!?

It took just a few more moves for him to realise there was no win.

This game is from the 7th round of the 1969 Australian Championship (1968.12.27 to 1969.01.15) played in Melbourne on 4th January 1969.
