Dec-11-20  saintdufus: Playing through these Derrickson games, I get the impression he was a player who hung lots of pieces, used the "fishing pole" tactic in every game, and managed to win from lost positions because his opponents didn't defend properly.

But it was a different game back then. Declining sacs was considered "ungentlemanly", and under such conditions Derrickson was able to shine as a creative talent.
