Jun-25-15  WinKing: Thanks <chessgames>. Good choice!
Jun-25-15  WinKing: Let's see how Carlsen defends from an inferior position out of the opening.
Jun-25-15  whiteshark: Game of the cellar dwelling Norwegians

<4..f6> is already a TN, surely trying to bring his second out of book.

Jun-25-15  varishnakov: Magnus has a sad horse on a7.
Jun-25-15  boz: White is low on time. Will this lead to a late game blunder?
Jun-25-15  WinKing: It's really too bad that the Topalov-Anand game was such a 'dud'. The other four games are quite interesting.

plang: 4..f6!? - that is pretty far out even for Carlsen

offramp: I have played quite a few games where I pause and look around the board and notice that I am two or even three pawns down. I remember thinking, "Where did they go?"
Jun-25-15  WinKing: <plang: 4..f6!? - that is pretty far out even for Carlsen>

Yeah I think that was a 'one & done' experiment. We won't see that ever again.

keypusher: Thanks, cg. Looking pretty grim for Magnus.
Jun-25-15  Appaz: Not often I enjoy watching Carlsen struggle.

Go, Ludde!

Jun-25-15  MarkFinan: 22.Nf5! Was brilliant, I don't care what the engine says. He's really threatening to mate Magnus Carlsen and forcing at least the exchange. Great attempt that will probably fail though.
Jun-25-15  boz: If Hammer wins this I'm sure, given his relationship with Carlsen, he will react modestly, but on the inside, he'll be shouting, "YESSS!!!"
Jun-25-15  MarkFinan: 27.b3 throws it away
Jun-25-15  WinKing: <boz: If Hammer wins this I'm sure, given his relationship with Carlsen, he will react modestly, but on the inside, he'll be shouting, "YESSS!!!">

lol...I know I would. :)

Jun-25-15  Sokrates: Carlsen's only chance of rescue would be white's few pawns. If they disappear in exchange, Hammer would have quite a task to fullfil. But at a first glance an immediate resignation also seems plausible - albeit completely ubearable for the world champion. :-)

Chessical: Carlsen can hang on with <27...c5>
Jun-25-15  thegoodanarchist: My engine says 27...c5 is =, 0.00
Jun-25-15  rogge: Low quality game! Best computer is http://analysis.sesse.net/
Jun-25-15  ChemMac: If 27....c5 28.Rf2 cd 29.RXc8+ NXc8 29.RXa2, without analysis, the advantage of R vs N in an open position should be decisive,
Jun-25-15  ghassan444: I think r×do not good can play NC good move just like play force move by can magnus take b×a have 3p
Jun-25-15  Appaz: Probably more difficult to play for black than what the computer eval suggest. Also supported by the long time Carlsen uses after 27.b3
Jun-25-15  kia0708: boring game :-(
Jun-25-15  Pedro Fernandez: <<kia0708>: boring game :-( > Hmm, don't go, the game will become quite interesting, I guarantee!
