Kibitzer's Corner
May-22-15  Sokrates: Very entertaining game where focus went from the Q-side to the K-side. It seemed as if Karjakin had a decent position around move 23/24, but then Grischuk directed his Q to the other side and conducted a pressure on the black king. By 31.Qf4 black's weakpoint f7 proved to be the bung that kept black's position together. Well played by Grischuk.
May-22-15  paavoh: Any chance that 24.- O-O was the actual problem, could the King have been safer in the center? On 31st move Black only had a choice between a rock and a hard place, losing either the f or h pawn.

A good game in all.

May-22-15  Markov47: However, the game was roughly equal at move 39. Kh6 would have prolonged the fight while 39. ... Nf7 lost in the spot.
May-22-15  whiteshark: <GM Jan Gustafsson> takes us through this battle. Jan blunders mate-in-1 analysing, but the players also miss quite some things in this dramatic game:
May-23-15  morfishine: <whiteshark> Thanks for the link! Very enjoyable, now I'm all set to play this variation...NOT !
