Aug-25-14  Mating Net: If the side with the Rooks fails to coordinate the towers, it doesn't stand a chance against the Queen.
Sep-03-14  waustad: Yes, a very nice game by the Mongolian lass. This is probably her best performance so far in her career. Her game seems to have picked up quite a bit since she returned to Ulan Bator after going to school in the US. She must be doing chess full time now. Does anybody know who her coach is?
Sep-07-14  morfishine: Colorless, second-rate game

offramp: We're not supposed to use the term Mongolian any more; it's "North Manchurian."
Sep-07-14  morfishine: <offramp> So, if she makes it to the finals of the WWC, would that make her a Manchurian Candidate?

*****

Sep-07-14  goodevans: <We're not supposed to use the term Mongolian any more; it's "North Manchurian.">

I hope that was said tongue in cheek because it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Mongolia is to be found to the west of Manchuria not to the north. Somebody's put their PC hat on a bit crooked methinks.

perfidious: <goodevans....Mongolia is to be found to the west of Manchuria not to the north.>

So far as I know, that remains the case.

<....Somebody's put their PC hat on a bit crooked methinks.>

Maybe the map of China is atilt--never can tell.

playground player: Why is it un-PC to call Mongolia Mongolia?
Sep-07-14  morfishine: <goodevans> Note, <offramp> has a dry, sarcastic wit, and replies to no one
Sep-08-14  kevin86: It looks like Black's game is crumbling a bit...
