  fredthebear: The quickest checkmate is 49.Qe7+ to support 50.Rd8#. However, White also had a three-move Railroad Mate pattern available w/49.Qd8+ Kb7 50.Rb6+ Ka7 51.Qb8#. The queen and rook take turns supporting one another and "track" the opposing king like a train locomotive straight to the edge of the board.
