Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-16-14  jefballard: 39...Qg5 Major blunder or was the game already gone?

perfidious: Black could not guard against both threats, the other being the devastating 40.Qf6.
Jun-19-14  ChessYouGood: I'm surprised Nakamura didn't persevere even longer after finding himself a whole rook down, without any compensation.
Jun-19-14  RookFile: His opponent is 2653. That doesn't sound like the type of guy you give rook odds to.
Jun-19-14  Moszkowski012273: Still dropping the exchange, but better, was 39...Rxa4
Jun-28-14  patzer2: 39...Rxa4 40. Qb5+ (Queen fork) picks up a whole Rook.
Jun-28-14  capablancakarpov: Yeah, it would be nice if you could check your own King
Jun-29-14  patzer2: Oops! Let's try again. Best here is indeed 39... Rxa4 40. Qf6 Ra2+ 41. Bb2 Rxb2+ 42. Qxb2 Qg5 with Black only down the exchange.

Earlier 36...Rc8 =, instead of 36...Ra8? 37. Bc6! , improves and avoids the 39. Qb6! problem.

Jul-03-14  Moszkowski012273: Yep...
