May-17-14 | | FlipOne: @Jamboree - No, there's no bias against Wesley So. Wesley currently does not play in many tournaments because he is a FULL-TIME STUDENT at Webster University. I think that he plays tournaments only during school breaks (summer, spring, fall breaks), and will do so in the foreseeable future - unless, of course, he drops out of college which, I think, he won't do. |
|
May-17-14 | | koloko: <Wesley replicated Stockfish's best moves 43 out of 64 tries translating to a 67% performance.> Scary, similar to a force of nature. Like a raging volcano, no humans will be able control. |

May-17-14 | | wordfunph: <Billy Vaughan: He's collecting enough notches in his belt that beating Dominguez is no longer some superlative achievement — it's just one of many> 10 points - bull's-eye! |

May-17-14 | | Chris321: Nice game by So,i like his 24.Rf2,Prophylactic and attacking at the same time @Nimzovitch.Also the poor black kt is so overworked, with all the duties to it,that you can clearly see black in this game ain't kind to horses,eh ehhe eh,riding them into the ground, till they drop!.Hope Fidel doesn't eat horse, this one will be tough it's meat after such extreme riding!. |

May-17-14 | | JohnBoy: At move 32 does black have another option (rather than 32...e4) or is he already in bad trouble? If he thought he could hold the Kt ending after losing the d pawn he was mistaken, but I don't see another reasonable plan. I'm looking at 32...Rf4, 32...a5, and 32...Qh5 for potential to mitigate the shift of the white knight to e4. |

May-17-14 | | JohnBoy: <perf> - <frandle>'s pampered goldfish is not yours. But I like the allusion. |

May-17-14 | | SugarDom: <frandie>, please start counting the moves only after the novelty in the opening. 2. ...d6 - 3rd best move? C'mon. |

May-17-14 | | frandie: <please start counting the moves only after the novelty in the opening.> What move would that be?
<2. ...d6 - 3rd best move? C'mon.> Wesley plays the white pieces. His 2. Nf3 move was ranked by Stockfish as no. three among his top evaluation lines: Analysis
Evaluation Line
0.34 2. d4 cxd4 3. Nf3 Nc6 4. c3 Nf6 5. e5 Ne4
0.34 2. Nc3 e6 3. Nf3 Nc6 4. Bb5 Be7 5. O-O Nf6

Somebody come to the rescue please to save him from further embarrassment. |

May-17-14 | | SugarDom: I'm not wasting my time for somebody who can't understand what i'm trying to say in broad daylight. DUHHHHHH... |
|
May-17-14 | | Edmontonchessclub: Wesley's next tournament, by coincidence, will also have Ivanchuk and Bruzon in it: The 9th Edmonton International, in Canada, June 21st to 29th. http://edmonton-international.com/P... This longtime Chessgames member has the honor of being one of the Organizers of the tournament, and I hope to get it featured on Chessgames. |
|
May-17-14 | | Chris321: An obviously if black could get his Kt to e5( with the white f3 pawn allready captured )that outpost Kt will make black feel much!better,i reckon.Even say it happens that black loses a pawn but he can get his Kt to e5,it will be worth it! |

May-17-14 | | lakers4sho: <The 9th Edmonton International, in Canada, June 21st to 29th.> No rest for Wesley it seems, after this one he'll fly to Italy for another one. |

May-18-14 | | Tiggler: <frandie> you are using an engine evaluation that is much shallower than GM play. It is irrelevant. All these players know more than Stockfish at 25-ply. |
|
May-18-14 | | frandie: Prove it...else tell that to the marines. |
|
May-18-14 | | Tiggler: You can prove it for yourself. Stockfish is a free engine. Download it and run it for more than 15 seconds a move. See how often its top choices change. |
|
May-18-14 | | frandie: its the one used by chessdom...surely it serves their purpose. I can live with that. If you can't, there is always seppuku. |
|
May-18-14 | | Tiggler: chessdom shows output after 5 seconds. Stockfish rating is about 2400 maybe when given that short a time. |
|

|
May-18-14 | | Tiggler: <lakers4sho> I don't have the sockpuppet directory, so I was unaware that I was addressing <tolengoy>, if I was. |
