Dec-16-13 | | zb2cr: simple. Lure the King over to d8 with 18. Rd8+, Kxd8; 19. Qd7#. |

 | | scutigera: I do love suction sacs. |
Dec-16-13 | | Cheapo by the Dozen: Black should have just snatched the e pawn on Move 10, then retreated the queen to the kingside once she was chased. Then none of this would have happened, and the h2-b8 diagonal doesn't cause enough trouble for Black to make up for 2 pawns. |
Dec-16-13 | | Nick46: <Cheapo by the Dozen: Black should have...> Sounds sound to me. |
Dec-16-13 | | morfishine: Horrid position for Black: 18.Rd8+ Kxd8 19.Qd7#
*1.e4 c5 is a Sicilian no matter what it transposes into ***** |
Dec-16-13 | | ossipossi: <Cheapo by the dozen> & <Nick46>: yes, what's the trick for the two pawns? |
Dec-16-13 | | Nullifidian: 18. ♖d8+ ♔xd8 19. ♕d7# |

<18.?>
White lures the Black king out and mates over the d-file <18.Rd8+ Kxd8 19.Qd7# 1-0>. Not really much to it; Black's two final moves are pretty abysmal, to be honest. |
Dec-16-13 | | whiteshark: <18. Rd8+>, and that's it. But it took me a while, though. |
Dec-16-13 | | gars: Good morning, <lost in space>. Would you please be so kind to tell us what the hell is "hinlenkungsopfer"? Thanks a lot! |
Dec-16-13 | | WoodPushkin: Greetings
This actually took a couple few minutes to see. Looking too deep into simplicity. Bring the king back with/ simple rook sac. KISS (keep it simple stupid)
JAH LOVE |
Dec-16-13 | | jdc2: <gars: Good morning, <lost in space>. Would you please be so kind to tell us what the hell is "hinlenkungsopfer"? Thanks a lot> Probably pretty much the same as an eeznablootye. |
Dec-16-13 | | chesssalamander: Ok, not looking, here's my solution:
18. Rd8+ Kxd8 19. Qd7# |
Dec-16-13 | | jrpg: Black's position is poor but is there an easy win after
17 ...♗e7? |
Dec-16-13 | | Transformer: <gars: Good morning, <lost in space>. Would you please be so kind to tell us what the hell is "hinlenkungsopfer"? Thanks a lot!> AFAIK, "steering sacrifice". |
Dec-16-13 | | TheaN: <ossipossi: <Cheapo by the dozen> & <Nick46>: yes, what's the trick for the two pawns?> Check up the French Advance Milner-Barry Gambit. This is exactly this after move 10 by White. 10....a6 is actually the key move to prevent 11.Nb5, but Black goes quickly haywire after that. |
Dec-16-13 | | LoveThatJoker: <18. Rd8+ Kxd8 19. Qd7#> LTJ |

Dec-16-13
 | | agb2002: White has two pawns for a bishop.
Black threatens 18... Rxb6.
If 18.Qd7+ Kf7 and the black king escapes. Therefore, 18.Rd8+ Kxd8 19.Qd7#. |
Dec-16-13
 | | gawain: White makes the Black King an offer he can't refuse. This one jumped right out at me (as it's supposed to on a Monday) but it's still a nice little puzzle. |
Dec-16-13 | | kevin86: White needs to center the black king at d8-so that a queen mate will follow.Thus,Rd8+!! |
Dec-16-13 | | MountainMatt: Oh yeah, 18. Rd8+ will do. |
Dec-16-13
 | | Penguincw: Took me a while, but I got it. |
Dec-16-13
 | | Domdaniel: Blindingly obvious. Though I've lost similar games as Black to the Milner-Barry gambit. |
May-04-14 | | Everett: <Dec-16-13 scutigera: I do love suction sacs.> Never thought I would read a kibitz here on tea-bagging. |

 | | perfidious: <Everett> That poster got lost while on the way to the Rogoff page. |
