Phony Benoni: Those interested in United States chess history owe a great debt to Jack Spence. But when one person provides so much information, there are occasional gaffes.

Here, after <19...Kg8>

Spence gives the finish as <20.Rf6!! Qxf6 21.exf6> 1-0. This does not appear to be correct, and one needs Stockfish only to calculate the number of question marks that should have been awarded.

Fortunately, we have other sources which verify that Spence simply left out the move 20.Qf7+ Kh7, and now 21.Rf6 is an Insta-Crunch.
